Avia (Evỏnhen)


Magic Type: Aeromancy

Average Weight: 90 pounds

Avia live in the high plains of Nyveleyra, the Loftus Republic. Their primary language is Celaenavae. They value education over anything else and see any pursuit of education to be a worthy cause. Because of this, avia have multiple universities and schools of higher education throughout their nation. Including some of the best aeromancy and animancy training. The noble families sending their children to and running these institutions. Each family has unique colors of feathers in their wings, forearms, and hair. Avia have a diet consisting mainly of fruits, nuts, and seeds. They raise sheep which are occasionally used for food.

The cities of avia are large and constructed, taking care to make sure that the aesthetic is pleasing to the eye. Avia hold firm that the appeal of a structure is as important as its function. No outsiders have been allowed to enter the Loftus Republic for hundreds of years. If they need to meet with other nations or species, they will descend to from their cities in the sky.

Cervus (Yutf)


Magic Type: Animancy 
Average Height: 3' - 4'6"
Average Weight: 100 pounds

Cervus are the caretakers of the world. Wherever the cervus live, beautiful groves of trees and plants flourish. They can even bring life to the most barren of deserts. The Shazer Jungle in the south of Natos on Lunos is home to most Cervus herds. They speak Hretus, the language of the land. Males grow large antlers that resemble those of deer. The older they are, the more points that grow. Unlike deer, cervus antlers cannot regrow if they are broken or removed. They are a peaceful species that look to teach all other species how to live and be at one with nature. How human the cervus’ face appears varies by the individual. Some have human like ears, others are more like deer, the same for their nose.  They keep white spots that stretch down from their ears and down their bodies throughout their entire lives.

Using their animancy, the cervus grow nuts, fruit, vegetables, and leaves to eat. They use fallen wood and, at times encourage trees to grow into small homes for them to live. These small one-room homes are simple and provide a space of safety for them to sleep. They take their time creating and fostering the land around them. As a species, cervus are patient and slow moving. They rarely find themselves with any sense of urgency, believing that all things will happen in their own due time.

Dwarf (Su Lumúam)


Magic Type: Terramancy

Average Weight: 160 pounds

Dwarves live deep beneath ore rich mountains in grand stone halls. The largest of these being the Onyx Empire beneath the Black Range. Experts in the craft of terramancy, dwarves spent years carving their halls and homes from the stone in the mountains. Dwarven craftsmanship is easily recognizable from their smooth cut stones. They fit perfectly together with no mortar to hold them together. Beyond their homes and cities, everyone on Lunos holds with high regard dwarven craftsmanship. Dwarves make their tools, weapons, and other goods from high-quality materials and with a high attention to detail.  

Every year, dwarven merchant cities host large festivals where merchants from every nation and species travel hundreds of miles to take part in these markets. Their language Ádeltháric reflects this, over the years it has adopted words and phrases from other languages. Other nations and species also influenced their food choices. Dwarven cuisine consists of root vegetables, mushrooms, and various meats, including ruom. Ruom are large crablike creatures that serve many purposes, from food, as pack animals, to noble steads. Dwarven militaries often rely on ruom to help maintain their soldiers and equipment. The largest armies on Lunos belong to the dwarves.

Kitsune (Amalova)


Magic Type:  Pyromancy, Hydromancy, Aeromancy, Terramancy, Animancy, Umbrancy
Average Height: 2'1"
Average Weight: 30 pounds

Kitsune are creatures that seem to live in legend. They are rarely seen and when they are there usually come with purpose for those who see them. They are known for being messengers of the gods. Kitsune typically have colored markings in their fur that identify what element that they have an affinity for. Typically white kitsune are benevolent and black kitsune are malevolent. They are all playful creatures that take joy in toying with others.

If you see a white kitsune it is considered lucky. They are known to live for hundreds if not thousands of years. It is believed that they will grow an additional tail for every 125 years they live until they have nine. Nine tailed kitsune are considered extremely powerful and wise.

Kurai (Evtyan)


Mage Type: Umbrancy 
Average Height: 7' - 8'
Average Weight: 210 pounds

Kurai are the least known of any sapient species. It is unknown if they have any communities of their own. Kurai live solitary lives, even when they live in cities and villages with others. Speculation has them living thousands of years. They are not only experts in umbrancy but also in all types of magic. Kurai frequently find work as trackers or high-level magic users.

The kurai intimidated most people, because of their great height, sharp teeth, grayish purple skin and lack of normal humanoid face features. Being a species without eyes, a nose, or external ears, they rely on sensory receptors that look like nostrils along their upper cheekbone. Standing on average over seven feet tall, kurai stand out in a crowd. It is difficult for most to differentiate between kurai, people think they all look the same.

Mumuir (Hasstiár)


Mage Type: Hydromancy 
Average Height: 5' - 6'2"
Average Weight: 145 pounds

Mumuirs are known as mermaids in human legends and folklore. They live in cities in the Rimbantyu Ocean, controlling the sea trade routes between Solos and Natos. Similar to lion prides, mumuir males stay close to their cities, protecting them and their territories. Females leave their homes to hunt for food and explore the unknown areas of the sea and on land. This has led some to believe that there are no male mumuirs. While on land, mumuirs’ tails will morph into legs, but they keep the scales that cover their bodies from their temples to their hands and feet. Upon close inspection, they have gills on the base of their necks.

Mumuirs are stronger than most humans and aren’t afraid to show it. They have retractable barbs that extend from their wrist with a paralytic venom they use to subdue their prey or predators. Their capacity to use hydromancy has helped them to become the rulers of the sea.
